Schooled by Arne Jacobsen
Knud Holscher is one of the most famous and award-winning architects and designers in Denmark with more than 40 years of experience. He was born in 1930 and got famous as an architect and designer very early ind his life. This may have been founded in the fact that he learned from the very best - he had Arne Jacobsen as a teacher at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, and was afterwards employed by Jacobsen in his studio in Charlottenlund.
Later, Holscher became an employee of KHR Arkitekter, where he designed Odense University, parts of Copenhagen Airport as well as many other industrial and commercial buildings in Denmark.
After his time at KHR Architects, Holscher began designing a wide range of award-winning products for the Danish designer brand d line.
Products founded in the Nordic tradition
In 1995, Knud Holscher started Holscher Design, where he still has got an important position today. Holscher Design creates solutions and products that are deeply rooted in the Nordic tradition. With this Holscher believes that the brand strives to create designs that are simple and clear in its expression, and where the user and the function are always in focus. In addition to this, Holscher Design always focuses on exploring new materials and testing new methods to ensure products that will point towards the future.
